We are seeking a talented individual with strong research skills to join our Research team as an Associate Research Scientist.
Job Description:
In this role at Curriculum Associates, you'll support products that are designed to improve student outcomes in reading and mathematics, especially for students who are historically underserved. You'll develop and execute rigorous research projects focused on CA's digital instruction solutions in reading and mathematics. You'll use a variety of data types, study designs, and analysis strategies to answer important questions related to how students interact with our products and how we can maximize the success of all students, including students who are unprepared for the grade in which they find themselves and students who are likely to receive a lower quality education. In this role, you will work closely with digital instruction experts and fellow researchers. This opportunity is right for you if:

You'll contribute to every phase of the research process You'll design and execute studies that answer actionable research questions about CA's instruction solutions using a variety of statistical methodologies You'll draft documentation for internal and external audiences, including process documentation, analysis specifications, and reporting of results You will have opportunities to present research findings to diverse audiences, including internal stakeholder meetings and professional conferences You'll contribute to quality control processes to ensure the accuracy of data, analyses, and findings of research projects Who we're looking for:
Ph.D. (candidates at the dissertation phase of their graduate program will also be considered) 0-3 years within the education research, psychometrics/educational measurement, psychology, or other quantitative social science discipline Experience working on education research and/or evaluation projects Knowledge of hierarchical modeling, clustering or other data reduction techniques, and other complex statistical methods Knowledge of educational measurement principles, including familiarity with psychometric concepts such as measurement error, validity, and reliability estimation and IRT Demonstrated ability to efficiently use various software to manipulate data and conduct quantitative analyses (preferably SAS or R) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Independent worker and collaborative colleague who team members value We'd also love to see, though not required:
Demonstrated experience in digital learning, reading, and/or mathematics at the K-8 level Experience using SQL for querying from large, complex databases
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Life SciencesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
