Description
This position is for an on-site Resident Engineer to be located at one or more of our remediation sites in the Greater New York/New Jersey area. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and technical skills. Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations is required. The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude; strong written and oral communication skills; and be flexible and self-motivated. The successful candidate also will be creative and well-organized, quality-oriented with attention to detail, and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Job Expectations:
This individual's primary responsibilities will include being involved in multiple aspects of site remediation projects including the on-site inspection of the implementation of approved remedial actions to document compliance with regulatory approved design and Client approved Contract documents and regulatory permits. The Resident Engineer will interact with representatives of the Client's implementation team including clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors. The successful candidate will need to be able to produce daily field reports, be able to conduct and document field changes to the design documents, work closely with a diverse, multidisciplinary project team, manage change, be able to perform field work such as construction oversight, and interface with field crews and clients as needed. In addition:
Be a technical resource to the project team and provide technical support on a variety of projects.
Document the implementation of field construction project and demonstrate compliance with the design documents (plans and specifications).
Participate in periodic status meetings and calls.
Utilize internal technical resources.
Desired Skills and
Experience:
B.S. degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering (or a related discipline) required.
Construction and design background highly preferred.

years working in a resident/field/quality assurance oversight capacity on projects that involved environmental remediation and construction.
Experience in earthwork and installation of cover/cap systems preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
40 hour OSHA Hazwoper training and subsequent updates a plus but not required.
