Job Purpose:
The Project Performance Specialist will assist the Project Leadership Team to maximize effectiveness and account resolution for any priority clients they are assigned to by the QPET Director. They will function as a biller, collector, account analyst or other roles as required to guide the project team in all aspects of performance best practices for the project type. They should expect to move from project to project based on need and deliver the necessary boost to that team's performance. The ideal candidates must have a minimum of 3 years healthcare reimbursement experience in a hospital setting or outsource company and be skilled in multiple revenue cycle job functions (patient access, billing, coding, medical records, charge capture, collections, cash applications).
Position Objectives:
Instill best practices into start-up or underperforming projects. To perform the hands-on job functions to demonstrate top performance to the team members and provide hands-on training and answer questions. Work closely with the project leaders to quickly meet the objectives of the team. To be available to assist with any project regardless of location within MedAssets RCS or at a client site for an indefinite period of time.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate best practices on all claims from billing through final resolution.
Analyze accounts for collectability.
Help project leaders ramp-up the project to meet objectives in a timely manner.
Bring project impediments to the leaders' attention and offer rapid solutions.
Review and prepare claims for manual and/or electronic billing submission.
Identify billing errors for correction and resubmit claims to insurance carriers.
Follow up on payment errors, low reimbursement, denials, etc.
Review Insurance EOB's and initiate appeals as necessary.
Act cooperatively and responsibly with patients, visitors, co-workers, management and clients.
Keep current with all commercial and managed care pricing models, rules and regulations
Maintain a professional attitude.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
3 years experience in multiple revenue cycle functional roles.
HFMA CRCR certification a plus.
Strong knowledge of computer billing & collection systems.
Intermediate Excel skills - advanced skill level preferred.
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
Ability to influence individuals and teams to be top performers.
Adaptability and flexibility to ever changing work conditions is essential.
Able to work in a professional, corporate setting and work client facing when necessary.
Travel: The Project Performance Specialist focus will be Full Business Office outsource projects which are primarily worked in the Saddle River office. It is anticipated that the majority of the work assignment will be at that location. However as needs arise, the Specialist must be able to travel to any MedAssets RCS office or client site for indefinite periods of time.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
